“Lebanon Debate”


Amid the country's challenging economic situation, there has been a recent rise in forced thefts in many areas, particularly in the northern regions.

According to "Lebanon Debate" sources, M.K. was in a taxi at Nour Square in Tripoli when the driver, under the pretext of a detour, took him to a secluded road. The driver then brandished a knife and demanded all of M.K.'s money.

The sources added that M.K. convinced the cab driver he would hand over his money, only to strike him on the head and flee, rendering the theft attempt unsuccessful.

Information about the taxi, described as a green Mercedes with a luggage rack on the roof, began circulating in the area to alert residents of the threat to their safety and property.

M.K. also filed a report, and an investigation has been launched to track down and apprehend the thief.
