Confusion and Chaos Erupt as Security Forces Intervene in Nafa'a

"Lebanon Debate”

A significant disruption occurred when the Vehicle Registration Authority strictly enforced the law, limiting entry to transaction handlers unless they had an official power of attorney from the transaction owner.

Khaled Abou Faraj, a car registration and driving education office owner, explained in an interview with Lebanon Debate that the Vehicle Registration Authority is now adhering to the traffic law. This law mandates that only the transaction owners or their authorized representatives are allowed to complete vehicle registration transactions. Office owners who had been authorized and inspected by the Interior Minister are exempt from this restriction and can continue their work.

This enforcement led to widespread chaos among transaction handlers, resulting in the closure of the Nabatieh and Tripoli branches, and confusion in Dekwaneh. The Authority’s administration called in security forces, who managed to restore order and ensure that operations resumed smoothly.

The situation with the transaction handlers is still unfolding. They are expected to meet with the head of the authority to discuss the issue and seek a resolution.
