“Lebanon Debate”
The ongoing challenges in the Ogero sector, which involves maintaining services and employee salaries under difficult conditions, persist despite efforts to provide minimal service levels.
Caretaker Minister of Communications Johnny Qorm spoke to Lebanon Debate about the temporary measures taken to address these issues. He confirmed that funding for maintenance has been partially secured, with approximately 300 billion Lebanese pounds received and a promise of $8 million expected next week.
Minister Qorm emphasized that a long-term resolution to the Ogero crisis involves implementing proposals aimed at achieving sustainable solutions. Discussions are ongoing about proposals, including the return of the budget allocations that have been previously discussed.
Regarding salaries, Qorm noted that they are not yet secured beyond the end of the next month. He stressed the need for prompt action to ensure that Ogero employees receive their salaries in accordance with the required decrees.
