Forged Judicial Records and an Arrested Teenager

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces — Public Relations Division issued the following statement today, Friday:

"At 14:40 on July 23, 2024, on the road from the Beqaa to Beirut, members of the Dahr el Baydar checkpoint in the Regional Gendarmerie Unit stopped a passenger van carrying an individual identified as A.D.Y. (born in 2009, Syrian)."

The statement continued, "During the investigation, it was discovered that he is a member of a theft gang operating between Zahle and Baalbek. He confessed to stealing and transporting 35 motorcycles and 3 cars between the two cities. He also admitted to stealing from several homes and stated that he was involved in transporting forged judicial records from the Beqaa to individuals in Beirut in exchange for $150. A forged judicial record and 3.5 Captagon pills were found in his possession."

The statement concluded, "Legal procedures have been taken against him, and he has been handed over to the Dahr el Baydar police station in the Gendarmerie Unit as directed by the competent judiciary. In addition, efforts are underway to apprehend all members of the gang."
