It has been reported that former Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt is determined to find a quick resolution to appoint Major General Hassan Aouad as the Chief of Staff of the Lebanese Army. However, Jumblatt's efforts have so far been unsuccessful, despite the backing of Speaker Nabih Berri.
