“Lebanon Debate”
Social media erupted last evening with shocking news that rocked the Lebanese community, particularly in the north. A one-year-old child (born in January 2023, one year and seven months), identified as R.C.K. from the Zgharta district, tragically died after falling from the balcony of his home. According to medical reports from Tripoli Governmental Hospital, the child tragically lost his life.
Adding to the shock and resentment, initial medical reports suggested the child may have been subjected to rape before the fall, although official medical confirmation of injuries or bleeding has not been provided.
Legal sources confirmed to "Lebanon Debate" that the family of the child is unregistered, and investigations are ongoing. It is likely the child's death resulted from the fall, but examination by medical professionals revealed genital injuries consistent with repeated trauma over time, raising suspicions of prior rape and abuse.
As a result, authorities in the northern region have detained the child's father, mother, and uncle pending further investigation. Rumors circulated alleging the father, who reportedly has a history of drug abuse, may have assaulted and then thrown the child from the balcony. However, the father denied these unconfirmed as investigations continue. The forensic examination has been conducted with unprecedented secrecy, complicating efforts to establish the facts of the case.
Despite concerning attempts by family members to shield those responsible, suspicions currently focus solely on individuals within the child's family
