“Lebanon Debate”
Concerns about a resurgence of the coronavirus are rising as cases of the new "FLiRT" variant have increased in the United States and several other countries, including Lebanon, according to medical sources.
The sources informed "Lebanon Debate" that, despite the recent uptick in infections worldwide, there is no cause for alarm. They emphasized that the situation will not mirror the previous pandemic, but rather there will be intermittent waves of the virus.
They explained that the coronavirus is a mutating virus, and the "FLiRT" variant is notable for its ability to evade immune responses, which facilitates its spread.
