The ongoing series of Syrians entering Lebanese territory took a new turn last night when a force from the Border Guard Regiment of the Lebanese Army chased a small passenger bus on the Old Miniara - Akkar road. The bus was carrying individuals of Syrian nationality who had entered Lebanon illegally.
According to details of the operation, reports confirm that "during the chase, the bus driver lost control, which caused the bus to slide and overturn in the middle of the road, resulting in 8 injuries including the driver."
Immediately, ambulance teams from the Red Cross arrived and transported the injured to Hopital Notre Dame de la Paix in Kobayat and to the Centre Hospitalier El Youssef in Halba for treatment.
According to information disclosed, "the driver was a Lebanese from a town in Wadi Khaled, and he was transferred to Hopital Notre Dame de la Paix after sustaining serious injuries, but unfortunately, he later passed away."
