The residents of Hermel awoke to the sound of an explosion, only to discover that Ahmad Al-Mismar, a local, had detonated a bomb inside his apartment. The reasons behind his actions remain unclear; it's uncertain whether it was accidental or intentional.
According to Lebanon Debate, Ahmad lived alone in an apartment near Al-Assi Hospital. He tragically died immediately after the explosion.
Information suggest Ahmad had led a solitary life after two failed marriages, struggled with substance use, raising suspicions of suicide or reckless handling of explosives.
Local police, Military Intelligence, and forensic teams promptly responded to investigate the scene.
Following judicial referral, Ahmad's body was taken to Al-Assi Hospital for forensic examination to determine the exact cause of death.
