Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he has selected Republican Senator JD Vance from Ohio as his running mate for the presidential election.
The news was reported on Trump’s Truth Social platform as the Republican National Convention began in Milwaukee, which will last four days and is set to announce the party's presidential candidate.
It’s worth noting that Vance once criticized Trump harshly, but has since become one of his strongest supporters, according to Reuters.
