placeholder

Electricite du Liban (ELD) announced that it has begun unloading the first part of the shipment supplied under the Iraqi agreement. The state-owned supplier explained that following the statement issued on 8/7/2024, the necessary steps are being taken to unload the first part of the June cargo, located off the Deir Ammar plant following the financial hold imposed by Iraq that was lifted.

EDL clarified that Around 21,000 tons of fuel will be unloaded into the Deir Ammar tanks, noting that the rest of the cargo (around 9,000 tons) will be unloaded at the Zahrani plant, whose stocks are expected to run out after midnight.

A second cargo of around 30,000 tons of fuel, anchored off Zahrani, will also be unloaded "once the financial restrictions are lifted"

EDL will operate the Zahrani and Deir Ammar plants as their fuel stocks increased and the electricity production will go back to what it was in the upcoming days.
