MP Waddah Sadek wrote in a post on his "X" platform account:
"Amidst the ongoing campaign that began months ago and intensified over the past two weeks, involving accusations of treason, news fabrication, and constant monitoring of every action and statement to fuel incitement, we recall similar campaigns that targeted numerous Lebanese leaders. These campaigns resulted in multiple assassination attempts, from Marwan Hamadeh to Rafic Hariri and Mohamad Chatah."
He continued, "Today, we face similar campaigns orchestrated by well-known factions and their allies within the Sunni community, which could pose a grave threat to our lives."
Sadek added, "These factions have been exposed for spreading falsehoods, particularly through a website notorious for creating fake news. Among these falsehoods is the claim that I met with ambassadors of the quintet committee at the Pine Palace. It's important to clarify that I am not associated with this committee, nor have I met any ambassadors especially since no official statement regarding such a meeting has been issued at all."
