Elissa said during the "Beit Saad" program that she "is not against cohabitation." This statement came in response to artist Ahmed Saad sharing a story about his son studying in America. Ahmed mentioned that his son once told him about a friend who had a problem at home and needed a place to stay. Ahmed's son offered to let her stay with him for two weeks, which prompted Ahmed to express confusion, saying, "What do you mean she's coming to stay with you for two weeks? I don't understand." Interrupting him, Elissa asked, "What's the problem? The law in America allows the idea of cohabitation."
Ahmed Saad continued, stating, "We, as Easterners, are conservative and have principles that we must adhere to." Elissa then explained her perspective, saying, "I am not against the idea of cohabitation because many marriages fail due to partners not spending enough time together. This lack of understanding can lead to increased divorce rates. I think it's normal... but I've never done that myself."
In another context, Elissa revealed a past romantic relationship with a young Muslim man who had hidden his marital status from her. Upon discovering this, she ended the relationship, affirming, "I refused to build my happiness at the expense of another person, and I will never do that again."
Elissa acknowledged that Islam allows polygamy but stated that she personally rejects being a second wife, explaining, "I am a product of my environment. In my culture, we do not have the concept of a second wife, and I refuse to be in that situation."
