“Lebanon Debate”
The Hezbollah Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah, outlined the upcoming phase by emphasizing that the commitment to supporting the al-Aqsa Flood was resolute and definitive from the outset. He clarified that the battle on the Lebanese front does not have a specific name, underscoring that the Resistance is unafraid of war but fully prepared for any potential escalation.
Reflecting on Nasrallah' s speech, journalist and political writer Qassem Kassir asserted that "Hassan Nasrallah's speech aligns with developments in Gaza and the southern front, affirming the party's readiness for all possibilities, whether a ceasefire agreement is reached in Gaza or if Israel initiates any escalation."
In an interview with Lebanon Debate, Kassir remarked, "Nasrallah provided an assessment of the current situation on the ground. While he dismissed the likelihood of a major or large-scale war, he emphasized the readiness of the resistance for confrontation in case of Israeli escalation."
He noted, "The chances of a major war remain limited, contingent upon developments in Gaza and Netanyahu's strategies, but there is a potential for increased targeted killings in Palestine, Lebanon, and the region."
Kassir cautioned, "Israel appears to be banking on reigniting sectarian tensions in the region by alleging that Hezbollah, Iran, and their allies aim to foment discord among Arabic and Islamic nations. However, Iran's policy and that of Hezbollah aim to thwart such efforts, especially given the new Iranian president's initiative to foster cooperation with Arabic and Islamic countries."
