Caretaker Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Bassam Mawlawi, emphasized that "Lebanon can, through science, build the nation and eradicate extremism, injustice, and hate speech."
He questioned the reasons behind internal conflicts within the nation, stressing that "Lebanon belongs to all its people, not to any sect or party."
Mawlawi underscored the importance of preserving national unity and avoiding division, urging Lebanese students to contribute to nation-building as they do in countries they study in abroad.
He affirmed, "We will defend our right to live and rebuild Lebanon with the efforts of its people. As for non-Lebanese, we encourage them to develop their own countries while allowing Lebanese to rebuild theirs."
Mawlawi praised the efforts of security forces, highlighting their crucial role in maintaining Lebanon's security. The minister also accentuated the importance of private institutions and individual initiatives in safeguarding the nation.
