Bahaa Rafic Hariri reaffirmed his alignment with the policies of his late father, President Rafic Hariri.
He emphasized that his current project focuses on moderation, viewing Lebanon as a country of co-governance rather than merely a place of communal living.
Hariri made these remarks during a meeting with various delegations, including personalities and activists from the Akkar region.
He stated, “I have not come to Lebanon to challenge anyone. My hand is extended for negotiation within my convictions and my project, without any concession on the account of Sunnis.”
He also addressed rumors about his delayed entry into the political scene, explaining that although they were active a few years ago, the prevailing conditions at the time led them to step back and act prudently for the success of their project and to continue the legacy of the late President Hariri.
Hariri noted that his absence from the last parliamentary election was due to the widespread anger among the public, which he believed clouded their judgment.
He reiterated his trust in the people, pledging to serve them and work together to address any issues, whether personal or governmental. He assured that his office doors are open for communication and solutions, given his expertise in running institutions.
He emphasized that his political and socio-humanitarian projects are unified, which is why he will prioritize the health sector and push the government to correct its course.
Hariri also observed that Lebanon is experiencing significant tensions due to the deteriorating situation and the ongoing, deliberate injustice faced by Sunnis.
