“Lebanon Debate”
On Tuesday morning, official exam corrections started for all four sections. However, it seems that in the Northern District, the exam corrections are facing a huge obstacle: insufficient payment for corrections.
Lebanon Debate learned that “all correction centers have ceased operations as no official rate has been established for paper corrections."
According to the information, "Professors have demanded that the wage for correcting the exams be increased to at least 10 times last year's rate, especially considering that correcting each exam now requires twice the time compared to last year."
In response, sources within the Association of Secondary Education wish for the correction and auditing process to continue in order to announce results promptly. They have urged the Ministry of Education to increase the allowance significantly, by more than six times, and to provide it in dollars. They also called for a clear schedule detailing all entitlements.
It is important to note that the Ministry of Education has tripled participation allowances in Lebanese currency. However, decisions regarding allowances in dollars, including whether to increase them or maintain last year's wages, have not yet been finalized.
