The NNA reported that "armed individuals entered an exchange shop in Zouk Mikael - Keserwan on Tuesday afternoon, stealing 20 million Lebanese liras and the shop owner's cell phone."
The gunmen attempted to obtain the safe key to steal larger sums of money. A scuffle ensued between the shopkeeper and the thieves, resulting in the shopkeeper being struck on the head with a firearm and sustaining various injuries. The assailants fled to an unknown location.
The shop owner was transported by the Red Cross to Saint John Hospital in Jounieh.
Security forces and forensic experts promptly arrived at the scene, launching investigations to apprehend the perpetrators.
