“Lebanon Debate”
Under the pretext of "paying taxes," "Bet Arabia" continues to illegally tighten its grip on Casino du Liban. It was confirmed by the Court of Audit (COA), which delegitimized granting licenses to manage and organize online gambling games for the aforementioned company. The COA categorized them as part of the black market.
The masterminds behind this operation, who hold the biggest shares of the company, are Hicham Itani and Jad Gharios. Given this situation, the company believes it can violate the law and take money from citizens solely because it pays taxes to the Lebanese government.
If such actions are permissible, why doesn't the government legalize the sale and promotion of drugs, brothels, and encroachment on marine property, so long as violators of the law pay taxes? Shouldn't we then abolish the constitution, laws, and judiciary and adopt the principle that taxpayers cannot be harmed, even if involved in corruption?
Therefore, why hasn't the judiciary acted to stop this charade? How much longer will the government remain vulnerable to the highest bidder? Why hasn't the judiciary adhered to the decision of the COA and annulled the suspicious tender between Casino du Liban and "Bet Arabia"?
