نفى رئيس الوزراء الإثيوبي أبي أحمد وصول مفاوضات سد النهضة مع مصر إلى طريق مسدود بسبب تعنتها، مؤكداً "استعداد بلاده لحل أي خلافات ومشاغل معلقة عن طريق التشاور بين البلدان الثلاثة".
وأكد في تغريدة على حسابه عبر "تويتر"، أن "حكومته تعزز جهودها لإنجاح الحوار الثلاثي، كما تتوقع التزاما مماثلا من بلدي المصب مصر والسودان، مشيدا بوزراء شؤون المياه في إثيوبيا والسودان ومصر في جهودهم لمواصلة الحوار الثلاثي حول ملء وتشغيل السد".

وقال إن "إثيوبيا تكرر حقوق جميع دول حوض النيل البالغ عددها 11 في استخدام مياه النيل وفقا لمبادئ الاستخدام العادل وعدم التسبب في أي ضرر جسيم، مما يؤكد حق إثيوبيا في تطوير مواردها المائية لتلبية احتياجات شعبها".
